These terms cover using The Singing Orrery (singingorrery.com), which is run by Keith D Commiskey. Using the site means you accept them. They take effect on Oct 8, 2026.
Who it's for
Anyone can play, at any age: there's no account and nothing to buy. The site is run from the United States and made mainly for people there. If you use it from somewhere else, it's up to you to make sure that's allowed where you are.
Free to play, as it is
The site is free, and provided as it is and as available, without any promise that it will always work, sound right or be there. Parts of it may change, pause or end at any time. As far as the law allows, Keith D Commiskey isn't responsible for any loss or harm that comes from using it.
Playing fair
Please don't:
- attack, overload or probe the site, or get around its limits or its bot checks;
- fetch its pages or puzzles in bulk with scripts or other automated tools;
- sign up anyone's email address for updates but your own;
- use the site to break the law or to harm anyone.
Requests that look like abuse may be slowed down or turned away.
Shared skies are public
A share link holds only numbers (which rings have planets, and where each starts), never text and nothing about you. Anyone with a link can open it, and a link you share can be passed on. There's no way to make one private or take it back, so share the ones you're happy for anyone to hear.
Who owns what
The site, its design, code, sounds and words belong to Keith D Commiskey, apart from the parts that belong to others under their own licenses (such as the JetBrains Mono font, under the SIL Open Font License, in the preview images). The skies you build and the result dots you copy are yours to share anywhere.
Email updates
Updates by email are optional, for people 13 and older, and every one has a link to unsubscribe. The privacy page says how your address is kept.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, this page will say what changed and when, and What's new will mention it. Using the site after that means you accept the new terms.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
