A shared sky with 9 planets, played on the gamelan

Played on the gamelan, a member instrument.

How to play

Each planet chimes as it crosses the line above the sun.

Tap a ring to add a planet. Tap a planet, or the glowing trail behind it, to remove it.

Every sky is a 12-second song that loops forever, and no combination can sound wrong. When all your planets cross the line together, they're aligned.

Space bar pauses. "Share" copies a link that plays exactly your sky.

The ♪ button picks the planets' instrument: the bell is everyone's, and members have more. A shared sky plays in the instrument it was made with.

Pick any date from 1800 to 2050, your birthday perhaps, and hear the six planets Kepler knew where they really were (or will be) that day. Keep it as a print-ready poster and wallpapers, too.

This sky uses sound. If you hear nothing, check your volume (and, on a phone, the silent switch).
